    WPS-TV programming can be seen on Cox Cable Channel 20 and AT&T U-verse Channel 99. Our focus is to share our district's activities and achievements with the Wichita community, to provide educational television programming for students, and helpful information to parents. WPS-TV features Wichita School News, Board of Education Meetings, Battle of the Books, special student productions, Parent Talk, our live call-in math show "Googolplex!", Tech Focus, music and drama performances, and much more. Through a variety of local and national partnerships, we also supplement our original Wichita Public Schools programming with educational shows from NASA-TV, Colonial Williamsburg, PBS-Kids and Classic Arts Showcase. Parent Talk: The Early Childhood Program
Connie Powell, Executive Coordinator of Early Childhood Programs, is joined by Curriculum Coaches Dawn Obermeyer and Toni Osterbuhr to discuss Pre-K and Kindergarten programs in Wichita Public Schools. Boundary Talks, Bond Construction Affected by State Budget Cuts to Schools
Superintendent John Allison explains how budget cuts from the Kansas legislature have changed the 2008 Bond Issue plan. Besides boundary changes, with the loss of millions of dollars in school funding from the state, the Board of Education has to study the costs of opening new schools and how to staff and sustain those buildings. The Wichita Public Schools had the funding to open the new schools when the bond issue passed in 2008, but with state funding cut to 1999 levels, the BOE has to consider possible changes to the bond issue plan.
